Schools
Beatty's combined elementary and middle school covers kindergarten through eighth grade, and Beatty High School covers nine through twelve. Both are part of the Nye County School District, and both are here in town, so no student in Beatty is bused out of the valley to go to school.
Health and Safety
Beatty Medical Center has been open since 1977 and provides family medicine and other services. It is the town's clinic.
Fire and ambulance are both run by the Beatty Volunteer Fire Department, staffed by neighbors who train and turn out on their own time. The Nye County Sheriff's Office keeps a substation in town and handles dispatch.
Utilities and Getting Online
The Beatty Water and Sanitation District pulls drinking water from three wells and treats the town's wastewater. Power comes from Valley Electric Association, a member-owned cooperative serving this stretch of the Nevada and California line.
Valley Electric also ran fiber into Beatty, including to the schools, so a town of a thousand people has better internet than a lot of places many times its size.
